goodbye, farewell

cloaks rip to shreds
broken mirrors laid to rest
two hands once held now sway alone
heartbreak around the world, around the world

i believed them when they lied
took them in, how hard we tried
stars burn the planets they love
jealousy always comes out on top

do you feel the world's farse
grey skies canopy a dark march
heavy is lighter then the ground we stand
wanted so much to be a phoenix, reborn again

go two blocks take a left
thats where you'll find me
little shop on third and west
come in, we lay dreams to rest

wished to hope to dream the future
can i be a dreamer with insomnia
a joker, a teller, a visionary
emergency exit out of the fray

you promised, and cried and lied and laughed
i loved you with everything i ever had
stayed by your bed when you had passed
why did you leave, please come back

promises were made on vinyl tracks
but like anything it never lasts
stuck in a rut, round and round
one day we all end up underground

i dont care if we see each other tonight
lonely planes trek the skies
if only wishes could take me away
goodbye, farewell.
