Amazing Half

I see her behind closed eyes
Her face lingers like breath on cold glass
How amazing to find you, find you at last

I searched and searched but couldn't find
The girl of my dreams, my soul mate in time
Broken, she lifts me to my feet
Holds my hand, makes my heart complete

Like a perfect day, a well written composition
Such is her beauty, vast like the ocean
Beautiful like the moon
I watch her every night, to her I swoon

I see her light touch the corners of my mind
Through closed doors, and elaborate mazes
She fills my soul with wondrous amazement
Her smile my life's greatest moment

Touch me, kiss me, in your light my shadow is cast
For now, forever, my future my past
She is nothing short of my better half
How amazing to find you, find you at last

Wants and Needs

I want, I want says the little boy
Filling jars with his favorite toys
Age and wisdom become his friends
Teaching with pain and inner reflections

Days collect like rain forming oceans
One which he remembers to visits often
For inside lay his greatest fears
Things he's overcome over the years

Burdens and heartbreaks like bulbs shattered
His heart grows, stronger, but never harder
Frail is how his was meant to be
Breaking chains and ropes, setting him free

I want, I want he says no more
Instead a deep understanding slowly grows
Dried is the ink written by destiny
Now he waits for whats meant patiently

winters love

Winters at my window again
Pressing her rosy cheeks against
Wanting me to come out and play
Her breath revealing forgotten silences

She embraces me with a gentle touch
Slides her hand into mine like a glove
Not cold like most would expect
Rather a relief to the mid-summer sun

She takes me to places I've never been
Shows me wonders my eyes take in
Beauty like nothing I've ever known
Her laughter theme music to my soul

Growing tired my eyes get heavy
Her delicate fingers pull me gently
Rest my head on her chest so perfectly
My ears listen to her heartbeat
Even in my sleep she teaches me about living

heartbreak warfare

birds dance on moon lit shores
winds carrying secrets howl no more
rains turn desserts into ocean floors
earth keeps turning, evermore

shot glasses used as ashtrays anyways
half a cigarette, burning the night away
demons in my blood always seem to say
things i keep locked, during the day

words with no meaning dance in the air
what your heart wants your eyes dont share
wonder what happened to all that flair
guess its just another heartbreak warfare

empty chairs and lonely layovers

empty chairs, and lonely layovers
dark skies and cozy beds
so well do these reflect
the pain i hold beneath my smile

echoless laughs and broken lights
look up now to see the falling skies
breath caught in my chest
stolen glimpses to beautiful reminders

quite drives along the sea
blank stares and moments not meant to be
paths untaken, missed directions
so often we wish time would freeze
but me, i wish nothing else but for my eternity

We Are

I am not embarrassed
I am not defeated
I am not humiliated
I am green
I am white
I am the blood that pumps in the viens of a 170 million
I am the water, the food, the cloth that covers the masses
I am not the American dream but the bread and butter that feeds the homeless
I am the flag that hangs overhead dancing in the wind
I am the sound of a million fans cheering their team
I am the hearts of a nation beating in unity
This is for victory
This is for our self imposed humility
This is for the times when everyone said we couldn't but we still believed
We showed the world that we dont need to be marked demographically
That we are proud to be who we are and we are the working class
We are sweat dripping down faces of mothers and fathers
We are the bread makers that dont have money to feed our sons and daughters
We are a nation divided but if one falls we all stand shoulder to shoulder
We arent the butt of every joke seen on NBC
We might have accents but we still swallow perfect english better then professors with English PhDs
The world might cast us as the deadliest nation in the world, but the meaning of hospitality isnt known until you stay in our allies
Misunderstood to the point that we have become a different species
Ignorant of the mistakes other nations have made
Forgetting Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Say we are all terrorists
Call us enemies
Shout names that degrade us but we dont care
We know who we are
And we are a people bound by calamities
But we are also a people bound by smiles in the face of defeat
We are the poor, the weak, the hungry
But amongst us are the rich, the able, the ready
To defend the colors of our country
To be the front thats never shown on tv
To be the dam that stops the flood coming to our shores
To work together in times of dark in hopes that one day we will once again be what we stood for
So no, I am not ashamed
I am not embarrassed
I am not silenced
I am proud
I am green
I am white
I am the love that runs through viens
I am the national anthem
I am different tongues all speaking the same language
I am victory
I am determination
I am waking up at the crack of dawn to sow fields with a horse and fist full of seeds
I am dirt roads, and roofs made with belief
I am not my corrupt government
I am breaking stereotypes
I am the youth, the old, the now
So for all the people who pushed us aside
For all the people who never took our side
Who never believe in our fight
Its not a fight to the death
Its not a fight for global control
Its a fight against corruption
To defeat violence with peace
To say look this is what we achieved
To say we are not only green
We are not only white
We are a prism to take all the colors and unite
We stand for decency
We stand for freedom
We stand for all the things you do
We are Pakistan
We are India
We are broken borders from which love flows freely
We are the world
We are unity

made to be

when i feel alone at night
your name on my tongue seems to light
the starless skies above my bed
even the darkness hidden in my chest

in stormy waters, and dessolate desserts
peace i find among the dwellers
who all have one hand on their hearts
the other holding their love

on my desk sits a spinning globe
imagination, a map lays unfold
travel the oceans, the seas too
you by my side, what a view

these stories and movies play in my mind
leading cast is yours and mine
author and direct so well do we
for each other we were made to be.
