Winters at my window again
Pressing her rosy cheeks against
Wanting me to come out and play
Her breath revealing forgotten silences
She embraces me with a gentle touch
Slides her hand into mine like a glove
Not cold like most would expect
Rather a relief to the mid-summer sun
She takes me to places I've never been
Shows me wonders my eyes take in
Beauty like nothing I've ever known
Her laughter theme music to my soul
Growing tired my eyes get heavy
Her delicate fingers pull me gently
Rest my head on her chest so perfectly
My ears listen to her heartbeat
Even in my sleep she teaches me about living
- rome.
